Request For Date Info

Sorry if I posted this at the wrong place.

I'm trying to find out on what date did Gateway became aware that its PC DX4320-39 was not compatible, with Windows 10.

Was it before or after Windows 10 launched?

Whas it on or about August 14, 2015?

The reason why I'm asking is because Windows 10 broke my DX4320-39 and it cost over $1,000.00 to replace & turn old HD into accessible external HD.

So, does anyone know when Gateway became aware that its PC DX4320-39 was not compatible, with Windows 10?

Please reply.

Sorry to hear about your system! I am not anyone that works for Microsoft, Acer, Gateway or any other Software, or Hardware company.

Sadly Windows 10 Release to the Public was before Aug 2015 and so was the info about what system could run Windows 10. I have a Gateway 17" Laptop NE71B06u from 2013, that I love dearly and within the first week of Windows 10 release I installed 10 even though it isn't on the list of computers for 10... I am not sure what the problem is and all drivers and things run well in 10 so 10 it stays.

Now with your system costing you some loads of Cash like you have stated. I don't think there is anyway you could say that Window 10 was the reason your system is no longer working! If that is the case, Gateway is/was a hardware company that made/makes computers for the public. When they put the computers out for sale they are built for the software they came with. Some systems are even built in areas where Windows isn't allowed to be so there is other software they offer like FreeDos or Linux. Not becasue the hardware was bad and couldn't run other software just where the system would be sold wouldn't support that software.....

I see you asked for info, I am just wondering what the problem was with your old machine that it has made your system fail! (Broke it) Then did you come here before now Like Loads of other people that have problems with their computer and ask to see if there was something we could offer before the system failed?

I have a few computers, Most older as my buying power isn't like it used to be, But I have Win 10 on Machines that are not on the list of Supported Machines. I have even an old Socket 775 with a OLD Intel G31 Chipset on a Asus MB. If you look up the G31 chipset in Intels website you will see it isn't supported in Windows 10. However I am running a new different Video Card and Windows 10 Pro runs faster then the XP that I was running on it before.. IT does everything that I want it to and even able to play games. Games that some of my other system wtih Win 10 can't because I can't change the issues in them. Even my unsupported Gateway Laptop runs better then it did when it was in 8.

I guess I am wondering how your system broke, and how it cost you over a grand to resolve the issue?

    1. Thanks for taking an interest in my post.

    2. [edited to comply with guidelines]

    3. Briefly, Windows 10 prevented me from accessing my HD. It also sabotaged the manufacturer's restore program. In addition, the Windows 10 restore program would not let me reply to it. So, it failed, too - which should have been predictable for its creator(s)/designer(s).

    4. I'm not blaming Gateway for anything. Frankly, I wish I stayed with Windows 7.

Microsoft, though, suggested that users should have checked with their manufacturers, prior to installing Windows 10, to verify compatibility. So, I'm wondering if such was even possible.

    Hence, my question (above).

Again, thanks for taking an interest!

Anyway here is the link to Gateway list of Computer that are Win10 Supported.

    http://us.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/windows10-eligible-models

I know that I didn't even look before I updated my Gateway and it ran great. Not that I needed to but within a few days I even cleaned the drive where it took out the Old Windows folder to make it so I couldn't go back... No problem so far. Main reason I did that was becasue my system was much newer then a few other smaller laptops that I have that I did look up On acers website and knew they were not 10 supported but do what I want them to do in Win10. They are still on 10 as well.

About the problems with your system, Something don't sound right.. Win10 gives the user 30 days to roll back unless you run the clean program... Then your Restore on the disc should have been there unless it was created before and asked if you want to DEL the Restore to save on room. I just went back to 8.1 on one of my XC600 that I just put 10 on last month. Then made the Restore USB then did a Clean install with the USB, It asked if I wanted to do clean delete everything and set everything back. I said yes. Even though it was saying for Window 8.1 after all said and Done went back to 8 that is fine with me. Just more work lol......

Sorry for the problems with your system. I look at the bay all the time, some people have crazy prices on machines that won't do Win10 with second Gen INtel and or HD 2000, 3000 graphics. I do have a few with the HD 2000 and 3000 that won't do Win10, I tried failed and went back to where they were... Do have one that I installed 10 on but as few of my other systems did a Graphics Card upgrade. went back to old software and removed new graphics card just wanted to test to see if I could lOL...

    Good Luck in your Quest
