Acer Aspire v7 582pg 6854 Laptop screen goes black when tilted too far back.

Hi all, I own the Acer Aspire v7 582pg 6854 Laptop (got it in September 2014) and since mid-September 2015 when I tilt my screen to the black, the screen turns black, if I pull the screen back towards me a bit (so it is straight up and down) the image blinks back on.

When the screen lights back, I see a grey line right in the middle of the screen like older TVs when they were out.

Is this an issue whith the graphics card or the ribbon cable is probably pinched or isn't fully seated?

Thanks in advance for advising me

Nearly certain that will be the cable. What's the warranty on that? If it's 2 years, send it back, if not you have nowt to loose cracking it open and looking for an obvious disconnect.....

Hi, thanks for the reply I thought too it might probably be a cable issue. The warranty is for 1 year, so that's off for me now. I'm not feeling very cool about opening the laptop (athough I work in technical support for Multimedia Systems for another brand) I can't find the laptop's service manual anywhere on the web and I fear if I contact Acer's customer service they won't forward me one, the brand I work for is not allowed to give away service manuals. Is it a complicated procedure?

There are a few guides on the web for adding an SSD that will get you in the case.

Follow them, then look at the cables that come from the hinges to the board. There will be 2 or 3. Wifi antenna, webcam, and the thickest is usually the video feed. Track that back to the board connector and take it out and re-seat it.

Might be a broken wire though....
