Aspire Switch 11 and Windows 10 Continuum

Hey,

Windows 10 is supposed to automatically switch between desktop mode (when docked with keyboard) and tablet mode (when the tablet is undocked). I can't seem to get this working with my Aspire Switch 11 (SW5-171).

I found another thread about the Switch 10, which suggested a BIOS update, so I have successfully done the BIOS update from the Acer page. The Acer Care application is also running, checking for updates and seems fully updated.

Does anybody have this automatic switch to tablet mode working on the Aspire Switch 11 with Windows 10? If so how?

I don't know for the Switch 11, but the Switch 12 doesn't automatically switch since the keyboard is actually a wireless connecton to the tablet. The physical connection is used to charge the keyboard battery. Switching between tablet and laptop mode in Windows is done manually from the menu that appears when you swipe in from the right edge of the screen.

Thanks for the information. It would be nice to be sure that this is the case for the Switch 11. As I say, I've seen postings about it working with the Switch 10... and the 11 is closer to the 10 than the 12 really....

We've just had to accept that it won't work now really. I suspect it's something in the BIOS that doesn't allow Windows to recognise that it's dealing with a convertible.

If somebody does know for sure that it's possible to make it work, I might put more effort in, but as it stands, we're giving up.

Hi guys. I found a solution you just have to install Acer change mode indicator. You can fin it in Acer aspire switch 10e(SW3-013) drivers, but it works my my aspire switch 10 (SW5-012). I hope it will be helpful...

PD: I had updated my BIOS to 1.20 version.
