Aspire S7-391-9427 ANOTHER CASE of not powering on

After just 14 months of ownership (of course 2 months after warranty expires), my Aspire S7-391-9427 does not recognize AC power and has completely died. It works fine from the battery but does not re-charge the battery of course. Consulted this great community and tried multiple actions without luck:

-plugged into another outlet, no luck.

-reset battery, no luck.

-installed new battery, no luck.

-tried new Acer AC charger (at store), no luck.

- took Aspire to IT service for free diagnostics: the power jack is fine, would cost money to start eliminating other possibilities.

Apart from posting in other fora about the bad quality of this product, does anyone have suggestions?

Given this experience after a relatively short period of use, I would not purchase an Acer product again.

  • Hello,

    There are two possibilities:

    1. The DC-IN cable:

    2. Unfortunately the power board is directly on the motherboard.
