realtek usb2.0 mic

Bought Acer T272HUL monitor and tested the webcam which works fine. I noticed that there is a realtek usb2.0 mic device too, but it does not hear me correctly.  Using Cortana via Microsoft Edge, Cortana can hear me if I get close to the monitor to speak.  When I try to configure speech via WIndows UI, the system does not hear me clearly.

So, what is the deal with the realtek usb2.0 mic?  Should I get a desktop mic instead or is this realtek usb2.0 mic defective?  Is this monitor suppossed to come with a mic at all?  The Acer documentation is lacking online and via the manual.

I'm not familiar with your monitor, but from a troubleshooting standpoint, I played around with cortana for a few minutes and had trouble with my mic and cortana too.  I didn't spend much time troubleshooting. But I did make a google hangouts call from my computer to make sure my mic was ok.  And it was. And I disabled cortana because I figured there might be some early bugs.

My only suggestion is to try the mic for a different application like skype or google hangouts (google voice) or something along those lines.  I guess you could even make a voice note with the builtin application.  I think it's called "voice recorder".  If you search your computer for "voice recorder" you should be able to find that application....and see what happens.

That's all I can think of.

    I'm not an Acer employee.
