V7-482PG-9617 Windows 10 hang on sleep

Hi there... I have tried to search the forums and don't see an answer to this. My apologies if someone has answered this question and thanks if you could point me in the right place.

I had a time upgrading my V7-482PG-9617 to Windows 10. Everytime I installed it, the automatic upgrades would run and I'd get a dpc_watchdog_violation whenever it booted. I ended up doing a clean install and ramming the drivers from the Acer support page into the machine before I let it reboot. That seems to have fixed the first problem, but now when it sleeps on battery power, it hangs. I've tried serveral settings in the power settings, but can't seem to get around it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Solution?

I'm a little late, but since you have mobile haswell  4500U, you should use the Windows 8.1 Intel Managemnt Interface driver as a workaround so it won't hang when you put it to sleep or it goes to sleep. It's a known incompatibility/issue w/ the ver. 11.x Intel MEI driver (and Turbo Boost driver).

    mrumble,

If it is hanging while going to sleep that is an operating system issue it sounds like. Try performing a refresh and seeing if there might be some corrupted files.

Thanks for the helpful suggestion. I'll try it out a few days and mark as accepted if the hanging issue resolves

Acer pulled the Windows 10 Intel Management Engine interface driver for your model probably some time in October.  But since you did a clean install, you probably weren't aware of that.  Unfortunately, when you do a clean install, Microsoft gives you the incompatible driver (or at least they did---not sure if they still do).

And for whatever reason, Acer decided to only pull the incompatible driver from a few models and not all of them......when there's more Acer haswell-ULT models affected.  The other ones have what's called a "Turbo Boost" driver which I believe is just a fancy marketing name for the Intel Management Engine interface driver.

I put a bunch of links about the problem in the link below.
