Hi

Can someone please help me......before i boot this laptop up the garden!!!

My webcam is not working, I have looked in Device Manager under imaging devices, there is no exclamation mark, when i click on update drivers, it advises the driver is up to date.

Neither Skype or messenger webcams will work as it advises i have no webcam installed????

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

    RPWells,

Sorry to hear your webcam is having issues, here are some thoughts of mine.

    • Has it ever worked? If so, perform a system restore to when it did and go forward from there.
    • Have you upgraded to Windows 10 recently? Try performing a refresh or system restore as an update or bad installation of a file could have caused it to start having issues.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply..

It did work originally. The automatic updates may have caused the issue or an update on Skype??

Is it normal  for the Device manager to say USB Boot, as when ive updated drivers before it usually gives the name of the brand installed??

    Many Thanks

    RPWells,

It is very possible that an update along the way caused the issue to start happening, a system restore to when it was working should fix it, or you can try a refresh if not.
