You are currently not connected to Any Networks

I have an acer aspire 5552 with windows 7. I upgraded to windows 10 but because I could not get full acess to my local area network, I reverted to windows 7. Now windows 7 says I am not connected to any network even though the adapters are there and their settings can be changed. No networks show up in the network and sharing center. The status of the lan adapter and the wireless adapter is IPv4 not connected and IPv6 not connected. I have reloaded the drivers for the 2 adapters but no change. I really don't want to revert to factory condition.

Can anyone help me?

    thanks revomaxx.

the solution turned out to be firewall related. I use comodo firewall. When I unchecked the comodo selection in the network adapter settings, everything suddenly worked. I then re-installed comodo and all was fixed.

  • Hello, I first want to say that I don't work for Acer or another computer software or hardware company and offer this with my own Trials & Errors.

I am not 100% sure that I understand your problem all the way! So I want to ask a couple of Questions to see if I can better help you.

    1. When you say that both wifi and Eth0 don't connect to your wireless router. Does your router have access for wired connections and have you tried to connect VIA a Cat5 cable from your laptop to your router and make sure that it won't connect that way?

    2. Did you down load your Drivers from Acers website or did you just try and use the drivers that Microsoft thinks is a good driver?

Also I am sorry I don't know your computer but I have my share of Computers and I am wondering what steps you have taken to try and use your Wireless?

Say for instance on my Acer One's I press Fn And F3 to turn on or off Wireless. Does yours need to do that or is it like one of my older laptops from another company where it has a Button for Wireless by its self?

Next Question is the Wireless netwrok for wireless does the ICON of the Radio come up your able to click it and look for Wireless in your area? If your in a Remote Area and your Router is set to not Broadcast it might be that it isn't finding any networks in your area so you would need to move closer to the router, Turn on your Wifi on your Laptop. Click the Antena, and add a Network. Put in your SSID name and then the password for your  system.

If that isn't there and in the hardware area it shows there is a Problem with your Wireless adpt, I would download the drivers from Acer, Unless you know what wireless one you have in your system I would download them all, Unpack them and then update driver for your wireless card. Then pick the option for on my computer. Then pick the area for drive where you unpacked your files and it will look over them and use the right one for your system.

restart your computer and try turning on your wireless if it didn't come on at start.

next if your able to see different Routers when you click on your Ant icon and can't connect to the service you know to be yours. YOu may want to look at the setttings in the router that it hasn't be set to not allow any more connections. If it is set that way it wouldn't let you access the router because it sees your computer now as a different computer then when it was Windows 10.

Hope this helps, if you could post a little more information about what you have done to try and connect so far that could shed some light
