Acer E5 problems can anyone please help?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to sort my friends laptop out. He bought it around a month ago and all was fine, he then foolishly let a work friend upgrade the Windows 8 to Windows 10, I say foolishly as his friend has potentially messed up the laptop.

It has become very sluiggish and unresponsive since upgrading to Windows 10. also whenever he plugs the power cord in when it's running low on power it beeps and shuts the laptop off. The whole laptop just doesn't operste as it should.

My friend took it back to the store and the salesperson said it is a problem with Acer and Windows 10, apparently Acer know about this and are working on an update to fix it. I honestly do not believe this, he also said Windows 10 was released in an unfinished format and is very buggy, I know this is a liso do not trust this.

So what I am asking is... Is there a problem between acer laptops and Windows 10? If not then does anybody know of the fixes I need to put into place to sort these issues out?

As a fix I have tried to reset windows (remove personal files option) it says there was a problem resetting windows. I pressed OK to enter the laptop normally and now upon the laptop turning on I get the Acer logo which shows for 5 seconds then it dissapears to black and this is an endless loop. I cannot get tot he BIOS or anything.

I've managed to get into the BIOS now, what should I do now? The windows installation must be at fault?

ALT+F10 at boot works?

if so, try to reset the installation, if it doesn't work, you can clean install windows 10 using microsoft download tool.

i hope that windows 10 was authenticated, so you don't need to enter any product key, just connect to the web and it will check the hardwareID.

Hi, alt+F10 gets me into a windows page...

- choose keyboard layout - UK enter

- Then I get "continue to windows 10 / troubleshoot / Turn off PC"

Continue - Exit and continue to Windows 10 does not work, it just goes back to the Acer boot logo/loop

if you want windows 10 back, i suggest you to download from the above link the windows download tool and create a bootable USB or DVD media and re-install it or try to do a Repair PC.

if you want windows 8.1 back with Acer software, you need to buy the Acer erecovery disks:
