Thank you for your reply .

My computer is an Acer Aspire E5-571-515G laptop , and I will look to see if the drivers are up to date .

I have gone into Acer Care Centre , and clicked on Update , and it says that everything is up to date (including the drivers).

Every time the machine loads and I click on the 'new notifications' icon in the system tray , the notification is there.

I have run the 'Acer Explorer' app and clicked on Support and then clicked on 'Warranty,Drivers & Downloads, and Support' , and then on 'Drivers and Manuals' .

This then took me to a page with the following tabs :-

    Driver

if you click on notification, what happens?

that kind of code can be a new driver or new application version:

    1.1.0.69 x64bit version

I pressed send by mistake !!

    Continued :-

Driver    Documents     BIOS    Patch     Application     O.S.

Under the Driver tab there are entries for Audio, Bluetooth , Cardreader, Chipset etc .

I will therefore print this list off and go into device manager to check whether or not the latest versions of these drivers are installed .

Assuming that I don't have the latest versions of some of these drivers , should it be ok to install the latest version of each driver ?

Will Acer have tested each driver thoroughly before adding it to the list ?

Also , the latest BIOS version is listed as 1.31 (dated 25th August 2015) and my BIOS is version 1.21 .

Will Acer have tested version 1.31 thoroughly before adding it to the list , or is it best to stay on version 1.21 for the time being ?

I usually only perform BIOS updates when absolutely necessary .

If I double click on the notification nothing happens.

I have left clicked on the notification , and this just displays :-

Turn off notifications for this app

    Go to notification settings

Acer updated a lot of drivers and even BIOS after the windows 10 update, so it will be better to download and apply this updates.

yes, Acer tests updates before publishing.

I have updated the drivers that are relevant to my system , but the notification is still there.

I have contacted Acer Support about it , and I will post again when they reply.

Acer Support haven't been able to help regarding whether Windows 10 or an app is generating the notification .

The system still seems to be working ok , and I can do everything that I want to do , and I will therefore not

be pursuing the problem any further in the immediate future .
