VA70 Webcam Issue

So the webcam on my girlfriend's laptop model#VA70 has stopped working.  At point it was working but she decided to take it to her local repair shop and they "cleaned" it.  Now it doesn't turn on.  We try to skype and the camera turns on and then keep turning off.  Not really sure what the issue could be.

 

Anyone have any recommendations?

Would you please provide the specific model you are having issues with so we can narrow down some suggestions for you?

 

Basic troubleshooting I can think of in the meantime, perform a refresh to fix any operating system issues., if you are still having problems, and are not sure what the repair shop did, you can perform a restore to factory defaults.

It is a Acer Aspire V3-731.  It was upgraded to Windows 8 by the tech place, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.  Again when she goes into Skype the system acts as if it's just detecting her webcam for the first time and makes a noise as if it's been plugged in and unplugged and it does this in a constant loop for a few minutes and then it works sparingly.

 

Please give me some HELP....

Normally I would suggest that you access the recovery partition and install the drivers, but that does not apply in this situation since the original operating system does not exist. Your options are kind of limited at this point, you can use the recovery media that you created to reload the notebook back to the factory defaults, and if you do not have it you can visit our Acer store and see if they have it available for purchase.

 

Your other option is to keep the retail operating system installed and ask Microsoft for some assistance.
