XB280HK USB not working

I have this monitor, when I plug in the USB cable, device manager flashes repeatedly but does not recognise the HUB.

System:

Windows 10 Pro, ASUS Rampage V Extreme.  I tried the usual uninstall reinstall etc.  Any ideas on next steps to repair this?

Video is fine using std nVidia drivers etc.

Just the USB is wonky

    irakandjii,

This monitor comes with a USB hub cable that needs to be plugged in to the PC for the USB ports to work on it, just to make sure that is plugged in and what you are referring to.

Yes, I am familiar with the workings of USB.  Thank you for the response.

The issue is with the USB Hub.

    1) If I connect to a USB 2 port, the hub works correctly.  However, I need USB 3.0 since on my Mother board (ASUS Rampage Extreme V, there are very few USB 2.0 ports and they are reserved for the Keyboard and a "ROG device"

    2) When I connect to USB 3.0, the hub is not recognised and Device Manager continuously cycles trying to install it.  This causes problems.  As soon as I disconnect the cable from the Monitor the cycling stops.

    System

    Operating System is Windows 10

    Rampage Extreme V, 5960 i7

    64 GB system ram

    irakandjii,

Do you happen to have another computer with USB 3.0 ports to connect the hub cable into?

Are you plugging the hub cable directly into the PC, or is it going through another hub or device in-between, by chance?

It is a direct connection and I have tried 3 different cables.

I can try my surface pro later it is USB 3.0

Ok I tried it on the surface and the problem was not there.

I retried it on the main machine with a different cable and it works, so looks like it is a cable problem.  Easy to fix at this end.

Thank you for all the help
