Acer Customer Service From A Newbie.

Hi all.

 

I've taken a most unusual step today, in that I have registered on this forum, not to rant and rave but to tell a story about customer service. Three days ago I rang customer service on the 0871 number and got very little clear help or advice. I looked for a different number and rang sales, their assistant was almost rude in his abruptness and un helpfulness. I then wrote an email to customer service and after 2 days wrote again. Yet again, I got unclear advice and decided this wasn't really good enough. My question was a simple request for advice on the Win 8 upgrade offer for my particular model. I looked up head office for Acer in the UK and rang the reception number. This turned out to be an answer phone so I left a message explaining why I called and that I wasn't merely trying to bypass the cost of their 0871 number. I held little hope of a response and was thinking I might off load my Acers for a different brand.

 

How wrong I was. I received a call back from a gentleman at Acer. All the contradictions and confusion were dispelled and I now know exactly where I stand. So, my heartfelt thanks to Acer, whom on the surface make it difficult to contact them, but who were there when I needed them. I think I will stick with them. 

 

As an aside, the laptop concerned is an Aspire 6930G and out of warranty, so they owed me nothing as such.
