Switch 11 Touchscreen no longer working in Windows 10

After going from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 I could still use the touch screen initially but now it doesn't work at all.

I spoke to customer support about it and uninstalling of drivers for HID in device manager didn't work. Eventually I was told to wait for Windows 10 updates that would fix it.

However I couldn't wait and have reformated my Switch 11 only to find the touchscreen still doesn't work.

I have no idea what the problem is anymore. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Nimious,

You went back to Windows 8 and your touch screen does not work either, or you used media you downloaded and created to do a clean install of Windows 10?

In either case, download the latest platform driver set (looks like 10.18.10.3383) from Acer and run it. That fixes many things.

Ran into the same thing myself on my Acer Iconia W4-820-2882.  I installed Windows 10 and it ran great for a while (at least a couple of weeks).  Worked one day then the next the touch Screen wasn't working.  I did the same, Reinstalled Windows 8.1 to my Tablet (had to use an External Mouse and a Bluetooth Keyboard).  After the Reinstall of Windows 8.1 my Touch Screen Still Wasn't working.  Found out that my Tablet was Out of the Warranty Period and I can't afford right now to send it away.  I work on Desktops and Laptops, even replaced Touch Screens on iPods, but I'd never worked on a Tablet!

I decided I didn't have anything to loose and I carefully removed the Backplate off the Tablet (used a Razor Blade where the Micro SD Slot is to get it started, then a Guitar Pick to gently go around the edges prying it up).  First thing I did was to Carefully Disconnect the Battery, then hold the External Power Button down for around 10 seconds to discharge any built up power.  I had looked at a new Touch Screen of my Model on Ebay and noted where the Flat Flex Cable was coming off the Touch Screen.  I found the Flat Flex Cable and Disconnected the Two Connections from the Circuit Board (There is a Release on the opposite side to where the cable goes in, I flipped it up with my fingernail).  Coming off of the same Circuit Board was another Flat Flex Cable that lead to the Tablet's Motherboard.  I disconnected this cable at both points (the same way as before).  I then Reseated all the Flat Flex Cables and locked them in place with the lever I had flipped up before (by gentley pushing it downwards). Next I reconnected the Power Cable.  Once all the cables were reconnected I carefully turned it over and and Powered the Tablet Nn (making sure not to touch any of the inside parts because the Backplate was still off).  Once the Tablet was booted I tried the Touch Screen, it worked.  I carefully (while the tablet was still on replaced the Backplate.  I then tried the touch screen again, still working (still working today and Windows 10 is back on this tablet!  Wasn't the Operating System at all, in my case just a coincidence it failed shortly after Windows 10 was installed.

BTW, do this procedure at your own risk!
