What I intend to proceed : wipe entirely the 128go ssd which is in the pc, replace it with the new ssd 240go, boot with the CD WIN8.1/64bits and reinstall all clean. My pc was shipped with oem win8, do you think that will make it? If you have some improvements for me, that will be a pleasure.I don't want to be stuck...

How you go about installing Windows 8.1 Pro is really a personal preference.  It's totally up to you.

I suppose it would depend on how much of the Acer pre-installed software that you use as I think you could even get Wndows8.1 pro through windows store or windows update since you have a pro product key.  It's also a good idea to make a backup of your Apps and Drivers too before you wipe the other drive:

The updates between 8 and 8.1 are done automatically when you install 8.1 or 8.1 pro.

And updated drivers and BIOS can be found here:

Or in some cases, depending on your computer model, you can get latest drivers directly from the component manufacturer.

It *should work*, but Microsoft recommends updating to Windows 8.1 through the Windows store first.  That's just a recommendation.....not necessarily mandatory.

Before you wipe your 128 GB SSD, you should consider making a factory default USB recovery drive.

According to the article below, it will update Windows 8 to 8.1......of course there's no guarantees it will work in all cases....which is why it would be smart to make that factory default USB recovery drive in case it doesn't work before you wipe the other drive.

"Windows restore media created with the Windows Installation Media Creation Tool will install and activate just fine on systems that shipped with Windows 8.0 and include a Windows 8.0 SLP key in their BIOS."

Thanks! I read all your message and the other explications. I have the recovery usb (default settings oem win8) plus one windows image backup (win8.1pro) plus the CD(key included) win8.1pro. Yeaeh I forgot to mention that I have upgraded my win8OEM to win8.1PRO. Is it better to install my new SSD from the OEMwin8 recovery USB and directly after that make the necessary upgrade to win8.1PRO and finally install the new pilots etc....?Great to read you.Thank you.jdc.   P.S. and what about the updates between 8 and 8.1?
