Screen dims when cord plugged in - sorry, wrong forum, have moved to laptops!

I have an Aspire E15. I have noticed when I lift the lid to wake it, it doesn't appear to be waking, although the hard drive is busy doing something. I have now realised it's just the screen not lighting. However, when I pull out the power cord, hey presto, the screen is on. Plug it in, screen goes dark.

I have checked my power settings but there may be something in there I haven't accessed.

Hope someone can help!

    supersadie,

When you wake the computer from sleep, move your finger across the touch pad to see if that does anything.

You can also try holding the FN key and right arrow key to increase brightness. I would check the power options and see what settings might be set to have the screen dim like that, just in case.
