Beyond MAD!!!!

Okay all,...In a previous post I stated my Predator G3620 had a problem with Windows 8

installing/running after utilizing the erecovery disks (mirror image of factory installed

software in my system FROM Acer) and the problem STILL remains. Have done almost

EVERYTHING to just get it to come back up beyond that damned "reinstall" screen and no

go. Have gone as far as taking the hard drive OUT of MY system and attempting to get

it to come up with another Windows 8 system (Which I KNOW works) and same problem.

Beginning to think these erecovery disks are not worth the cash I spent.  Will probably

end up BUYING Windows 8 and installing, which in my mind is WRONG since the erecovey

disks per Acer states (from tech) that it contains the ORIGINAL Windows 8 with reg#

and SHOULD reinstall,...What to do??? This is NOT a hardware issue. Even tried a
"Boot disk" from Microsoft and no go with the Windows 8/Recovery. Second HDD was

BRAND NEW,...and same issue.  ANY IDEAS???

Forgot to mention,...will have the HDD from "working system Windows 8" on site in an hour

and will update the post. Still mad as hell that my system is down for now over 3 weeks and

it has come to utilizing another brands system/HHD to possibly get mine up to check if this

    is an erecovery error,....

try to create an original Microsoft bootable media and check if this boots:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

if not, there is something else to check on your PC.

    iron Fly -

Have attempted everything you have suggested,...

Went as far as to pull pereferals AND USB to ensure

it wasn't hardware related. DVD Rec/Player swapped

out,...HDD swapped out, even went as far as to change

mem to one slice (4gb) nothing.  Even did the Microsoft

boot disk and no go. BTW the battery/DVD drive/HHD and

so on are all okay.  In fact had the HHD in another computer

and yes there is data there but won't access Windows.

    Still getting the following message:

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an

unexpected error. To install Windows, click "ok" to restart

the computer, and then restart the installation.

Now,...if erecovery disks are mirror images of the original

factory set-up/software (Windows 8 included) then WHY is

the system not accepting the restore?  At this point I am

    beyond frustrated.

i suspect some hardware issue, where?

probably motherboard at this point, since you swaped near everything.

So, if you are still under warranty....give Acer support service a call or if you are out of warranty, a computer repair shop.

    Iron Fly -

Was hoping beyond all hope that motherboard would not be THE problem,...but

with everything I have tried/swapped/attempted this seems to be the end

result. No, not under warranty (was bought 01/13) and it is a top notch computer.

But this should not be a problem as the motherboard seems to never be an issue

with Predators, or so I have read in multiple bloggs and even here, so I am at a

loss. Guess the next step is a computer repair shop as much as it pains me to say

    it and PAY it.

Hey, if any ACER Techs read this, I'd love the input. Iron Fly has been extremely

helpful, but a lil insight into posssible motherboard problem resolutions (such as

WHICH motherboard to get if replacing is required) would be helpful.

    still thinking.

have you tried to wipe completly the HDD and try to boot from Acer recovery DVD?

to be sure it will start from DVD, press F12 at boot.

    IronFly,

Well,I found after much searching, the Tech Manual to this beast, and it is good info. And if

this boils down to the Motherboard at least I have a PN# to work with to either buy one exactly

as from factory or with some other info, get a compatible board.

I believe I have attempted that at least once, but will try anything twice at this point. Have to

take the HDs to another system to wipe clean again and will try once more. Again, thanks for

    your inputs...
