No Windows 10 app on my W8.1 machine

I have a ACER XC600 that originally came with W8 and now through updates now has W8.1  I checked the ACER support pages and this model is supported for W10

So I have no updates pending, an I have no Windows 10 icon in the task tray.  I looked at all of the Microsof KB's and nothing seems to apply.  While Microsoft recognizes that this PC has W8.1 it seem to indicate that it is not a valid license key and suggests that this is the reason no W10 icon is present?

Can you tell me the steps I need to take to recitify this situation, the Microsift FAQ clearly states that PC legitimatly bought with W8 and updated to W8.1 will get this upgrade.

Thanks!  Al

Well, my my, how embarassing, all along I figured is was something complex or incomplete on my pc and it was something I did not do...  how could that be?

On this page from Micrpsoft you will find some troubleshooting tips a app to run a diagnostic on your PC to help find issues:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3081048  You will find the link to the app at the top of the section called "Resolution"

So what did the troubleshooter find for me?  Smiley Tongue  It would seem that I never actually activated my windows license!!!

The troubleshooter even took care of that, by the time I exited the app the Windows 10 ap icon was already on the task tray, so I have reserved and heading down the Microsoft path!
