How do I correctly install RAM into my Acer Predator AG3-605-UR2F

Do I need to take out the existing 8gb of ram that it comes with? Do I have to do anything to the OS for it to recognize the new ram once I install it? (Newbie)

about taking out the original ram, it depends how much ram do you need.

8GB is a good amount but if you wanto to raise to 16GB and your Predator has only 2 ram sticks, you can add another 2 ram sticks without taking off the original ram sticks but

the 2 new ram sticks must be exactly the same as the original or you will facing a lot of issues.

if you want to raise to 32GB of ram, you need to buy 4 8GB ram sticks, so you need to take off the original.

About OS, there will be no problem, it will set automatically at least if BIOS recognise the right amount of installed ram.

this is the list of OEM ram replacement:

    G3-605 ram

You can use speccy to help as well memory finder(s) or system scanner.

    https://www.piriform.com/speccy

    http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-info?cm_re=top-nav-_-flyout-memory-_-us-memory

If you're a newb, it would probably be best to go with system scanner and then verify with speccy that the timings, voltage etc..are the same as what's already in your system.

You should also Google "how to safely install ram in to a computer". There's YouTube videos that show you how to avoid static electricity.....so you don't damage anything when you're inside your computer case.
