I bought the thing back in april and it's been working fine up until now. The remote that came with it no longer connects to the machine, the device manager says it's working fine and once or twice I got it to work for a few seconds but then it just cuts out again. I've replaced the batteries in the remote with new ones, removed the dvice from the device manager, unplugged, replugged, rebooted, you name it but every say third or fourth unplug replug it works perfectly for a few seconds before the curser dissapears again. I'm stumped, any help would be much appreciated

    goggles447,

I actually got to test one of these units in the US, it didn't come with a remote. Could you provide me with the serial number in a PM so I can research this for you? I'm wondering if that might be something that was bundled with the reseller.

    Justin,

Thanks for the reply but I'm 99.9% sure it's not a third party thing, I mean it's acer branded, it came in the original box, and most of all it's featured in all the reviews of it I can find, for example the pcadvisor review and a quick google images search will show a bunch of pictures of the pc with the remote. I can still pm you the serial number if you want but it's definitely a legit feature, in fact it's a big part of why I bought it in the first place. I've also attached a picture of my remote so you can see it's the same one featured in the reviews/pictures etc.

    goggles447,

Thank you for the picture, my research in the mean time has enlightened me with the PA version did not ship with a remote. My first suggestion, since you have already did everything I would normally ask (great job!) would be to contact the Acer technical support in your area and see about getting a new remote, the USB receiver could be having issues. Should the new one fail, it might be the Revo itself that needs serviced.

    Hi,

I have the same remote for my RL85 Acer Revo One.

This is my second Revo (the first being a now aging but still running R3610) and both machines are great pieces of kit.

But the remote on the RL85 seems to eat batteries within just 2 weeks. At least that is what I think the flashing red LED on the remote means?

I suspect I'm doing something wrong in not powering down the remote in some fashion when I'm not using it maybe? Promlem is there does not seem to be any instructions or user guide for the remote?

I've checked the support areas and nothing seems to cover it.

Does anyone have a link that points to instructions for this remote please or any information that might help me?

    Many Thanks,

    Lt. Dang
