VN7-791G-77JJ BIOS settings

I am the owner of an Aspire 8930G that I bought in Dec. 2008, I believe. I was very happy with it except for the fact that it came with Intel VT disabled, and there was no way to enable it until a hacker found a way to patch the BIOS. So I had to put my faith in an unknown hacker who could have done God knows what top my system. I have no idea why Acer would do such a thing but they did.

Does anyone know if they have done anything equally silly with the VN7-791G-77JJ  BIOS? If I buy this machine, will I have all the features of the CPU that I am paying for?

I had promised myself that I would never buy another Acer but this model seems too good to be true. Maybe it is. You tell me.

    cdaley,

The Intel VT options are hidden in the BIOS by design according to my research, but it is enabled by default if the product supports it, which is why I provided the link to see if there were any problems enabling those features. Smiley Happy

Here is an article we created in regards to this sort of question, if it helps.

    Hello Justin,

The article does not help. The article explains how to turn on HyperV in Windows if your CPU supports HyperV. I know that this CPU supports Intel VT but it is a common practice by Acer (at least it was common in 2008 when I bought my laptop) to disable Intel VT in the BIOS without providing an option for the user to enable or disable it.

I am tryng to find out whether Intel VT is enabled in the BIOS or not.

OK. I don't own this model. I was considering it and a few other models from other manufacturers.
