Could you post a screen shot of the problem? 'Display went wacky' just doesn't seem to give enough information. Smiley Happy

Actually it is packed up ready to be returned pending any suggestion that would make sense and save me dissappointing the kids for the 4 weeks it will take me to get my money back and get another one'

And even if it was not packed up I do not have a good camera that i could get a picture of the tablet with and am not sure how to get a screen shot of a distorted display of a tabket i am not familiar with at all.

wacky display would be vertical distortions lines flashing up and down the middle of the screen contionously including startup boot and logo display and safe mode..  Just like TV's use to all the time  when not focused.

Sorry I could not be more helpful.

That description is actually a lot more helpful. And sending it back for replacement or repair is likely your best option. It could be just a loose cable between the screen and the motherboard but it could also easily be a failing graphics chip on the motherboard. Either would require a warranty repair/replace since opening it to check for a loose cable would void the warranty. Acer is pretty good about giving a quick turn around time if you go the warranty route, though depending on your vendor a replacement might be even quicker.
