H272HUL and an imac

hi all

i just got a Acer K272HUL for my second display for my 2013 imac. its connected via display port.

I've noticed, that even when both displays are at 2560x1440, the text on the Acer looks very blurry/washed out.

not so on the imac display

i've tried some different settings...but nothing really makes all that much change

Also, when waking up from sleep this morning. the Acer defaluted to 1920x1200. and no other resolution avalible.

I switched the display back to DP 1.1 and was able to go back to 2560x1440.

i guess that was just an wake from sleep issue

does anyone have a suggestion on whether to use DP 1.2 or DP 1.1?

or how to make the text look any better?

not sure if i shoud return this display.

Hi bguiliano,

If you have a DP 1.2 cable, that's definitely the way to go. I've seen issues with the way mac's handling different resolutions, specifically 21:9, but that isn't what's being pushed here. If you get to the point where you think it's the monitor, I'd would strongly suggest trying it on a Windows PC if you can because I just don't think the monitor is the issues, it's the way the mac wants to push out certain or specific resolutions.
