Aspire 5733 wont boot, can't see BIOS

Hi,

Can't seem to get this laptop to boot anymore, the screen is completely black, and I can't even see the BIOS.

The laptop starts booting for about 5/10 seconds, then you can here it restarting, though sometimes if you hammer a series of "F" keys, it might be getting to the startup options/bios settings though I just cannot tell due to the black screen. Though this is temperamental.

If I plugin another monitor it doesn't detect a signal, probably because it doesn't think its a primary monitor...

There seem to be a couple of clips on youtube that suggest flashing the bios, though I can't seem to even get that going.

I know you can normally restart the BIOS by remove the battery on the motherboard, though it seems rather stuck in there.

Has anyone had this issue before? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Joe

    Hi lexbi,

The first screen in your video is the BIOS attempting to load and then looking for a password. I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the USB device, but I imagine if you had the BIOS password you would get into the system and could operate normally.

    Hi Cory,

    Thanks for the response.

No password was previously set, those videos are not my own, I was just giving some examples of what others had tried in attempt to reset the bios. I had tried to reset the bios by trying to load the new bios files on a USB stick then hitting some shortcut while booting.

I don't even know if that's the problem. I was hoping that maybe someone here had encountered this before???
