t230h touch monitor not responding.

I have digital jukebox software installed for what is basically a glorified mp3 player. I've had this machine for about 4 years, but a couple months ago I've started having monitor issues. When I turn the computer on, the touch monitor will sometimes respond at first. This most frequently might last for a few minutes, or occasionally if I get lucky, it will last for a couple hours. But eventually it will stop responding to touch.

If music had been loaded already it will continue the play list, and the jukebox software will always appear on the screen. I am not computer saavy. I've had some suggestions that it could either be a bad driver, the USB or the monitor needs to be replaced. I've tried with a new USB and it's the same problem. I've also plugged a mouse into one of the USB ports on the motherboard where the monitor is plugged in and it worked fine for the time I used it. It doesn't seem that the t230h is still supported.

Is there anything else I could try troubleshooting before concluding the monitor is in need of replacement? Also, if the monitor does need to be replaced, what current model is the comprable monitor since it doesn't appear t230h is offered anymore?
