Acer Aspire E15 Start touchpad not working correctly

I'm having multiple issues with this thing.

1. It sometimes will just totally fail to note any clicks or touches.

2. It "clicks" on its own and selects text as I'm typing and it's been getting on my nerves really badly recently. (It in fact, just deleted that text because it selected it on me)

3. I'm having to use a wired mouse to make the brand new laptop function correctly, kinda destroys the point of a laptop imo.

How can I fix this?

    Hi wolfheartmoon,

I've got a couple pieces of information, and a couple suggestions. The touchpad is a Precision touchpad which is a little different than touchpads you may have been use to in the past. Here's an article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/touchpad. There are some slighly different gestures, and there's a feature that prevents "palm-checking" and that's thing over a quarter of an inch isn't registered, so we see people try to use the side of their thumbs unsuccessfully. If this isn't your issue, disregard, but I wanted to throw it out there.

Next would be to recovery the system to see if the performance improves and to ensure it's not a bad driver or some other software is interferring. With that said, I don't see a huge success rate with this. https://youtu.be/oFaFnRiwCiE

Finally, if you're still having issues, I would recommend contacting service as we may need to take care of the touchpad issue for you.

    Hope this helps,
    Cory
