I just wanted to let you know how to do this

1. FULLY CHARGE your Iconia W510.

2. Unplug the power cable from the docking station.

3. Plug up the USB DVD.

4. Power on the Iconia and insert the System DVD into the DVD ROM.

5. If you have not already gone into the BIOS and set the system to boot from CDROM, please do that now

   - Press and hold the POWER and Volume down buttons at the same time to boot into the BIOS.

   - Under BOOT, set the USB CDROM first

   - Exit, Saving all Changes

6. Boot from the CDROM.

7. Recover following the instructions on the screen.

    - the system will continue just like you had a powered CDROM. Do NOT plug up the power to the docking station until the system is fully installed and rebooted on its own.

Thanks

I find it easier to use either a powered DVD (has own wall wart) or a powered hub. You cannot expect the tab's USB to provide more than 500MA.
