    1) Check to see how close you have come to maxing out your internal memory with photos, videos and apps. The closer you come to the internal limit, the laggier the performance be it an Android smartphone or a tablet. Most of your media files and some of your aps may be possible to move to a microSD card, but not all. If you don't have a microSD card installed already, get one and see if it helps. You can find app-toSD movers in the Google Playstore.

    2) Restore Google Chrome to the factory default version by disabling it in the settings menu under "apps" (view all). Ironically, Google's own software updates, if you allow them to continue updating automatically, can really bog down the Android OS over time. If you don't need the pre-installed Google apps updated — music, TV, Chrome and newstand — go to the Google Playstore into "settings" and disable "auto updates".

    3) Don't just sleep your tablet, turn it off when you are not using it. Rebooting it daily will help it perform better and conserve the battery, too.
