I own an aspire v5 571g. I installed a windows(ultimate) os removing my old home basic version recently. I installed latest drivers and applications from the acer website. I am now having these problems

          1) Laptop won't wake up after sleep

          2) One of the usb 2.0 s is n't recognized

          3) Laptop goes dead slow(very**** slow) on opening dc++, lots of hashing errors saying I/O device errors

          4) Webcam is not detected

Please help me as I am stuck with my python project. dc++ is very often used here in our college.

I did n't istall the BIOS from the website because of little knowledge. Is this causing the problem. please help me out.

    srikar_7,

As far as the BIOS update goes, I believe that you will onyl be able to update to the 1.22 version, the 2.17 and 2.18 versions appear to possibly be for Windows 8.

If your system is still experiencing issues after updating all your drivers you can try running a disc check to see if that resolves some possible corruption.

Also check the optional Windows updates to see if there are some hardware updates there that might resolve the problem.
