Iconia w700 virtually useless - need to restore

It's been gradually slowing down over the last 6 months to the point where it's virtually unusable now.  So dissapointed with this tablet.  Anyway, I'm thinking I would like to restore it to factory default condition.  I have a number of dvd's that came with it, including 3 recovery disks and 1 system disk.  I can't find clear instructions anywhere on which of these disks I am supposed to use to restore it to original condition.   I've tried creating a bootable USB of the system disk, but using the various advanced system options and/or bios boot options didn't result in it being recognised.

So could some kind sole give me instructions of how I get this brick back to it's original state via USB?  I have the software to create dvd ISO's and create a bootable USB.  One potential unknown is that the recovery disks are split into parts.  I'm not sure how to work that in regards to a bootable USB.  So any advice on that would be good too.

Cheers,

Bernie.

    berniewest,

Here is an article we created for how to perform this function on the W700.

Thanks for that, but I am wanting to do it with a bootable USB stick, not an external dvd drive.  Who the hell has an external dvd drive just lying around??  Can't believe Acer didn't allow for this to be redone via a bootable USB ISO.

Anyway, upon reading some other threads on the various problems people have had with the w700, I came across another problem I wanted a solution for.  The fact that the "full power" setting on the power management isn't actually "full power".  Honestly, what a ridiculous computer this thing is.  Anyway, I downloaded the necessary driver and corrected the settings on it, and it's running like a bat out of hell again! Smiley Happy  I updated a motherboard (or perhaps it was a chipset) driver too, so that may have helped as well.  It's gone from being unusable to nice and fast again.  What I can't explain is how it was fast to begin with, without the correct driver that I ended up downloading to speed it up.  The only thing I can think is that previous driver did the job properly until it got corrupted, perhaps.
