My Acer Aspire ES1-111M, at switch-on requests my Outlook password.

I have entered the correct password several times (and logged into Outlook with it on a different computer) but it keeps saying that the password used is incorrect.

 

As I cannot get past this point, I am completely stuck.  Any ideas?

    Are you referring to the Outlook application that comes with Microsoft Office or are you trying to login here.

     

    I see most of these comes with a 30 day free trial of Office 365 and you would have to purchase Office 2013 or subscribe to Office 365 after that has expired. Are you past the 30 days mark on this notebook you are trying to login from?

    Hi Acer-Justin

     

    No, I was referring to when I switch on or wake up my notebook and I am asked to enter my password which is that of my outlook e-mail account.

     

    Having worked fine for 2 months, my password was rejected as not being the correct password.  I knew that I was typing the correct password; I even changed my Microsoft password but it was still rejected.  There was no way to get into my notebook!

     

    After hours of trawling the internet (on my desktop), I found the answers and my problem is resolved:

    • Although I am English, I live in France and I bought my notebook in France.  I changed the Windows language to English but my keyboard remains French - AZERTY.
    • I then saw a post suggesting that, while I may be typing the correct password, it may not be registering correctly. Was number or CAPS lock on? I eliminated these possibilities but it got me wondering how can I see what I am actually typing as my password.  All I can see is a series of dots.
    • Further trawling led me to the "eye" symbol in the password entry box and all was revealed;  what I was typing was not what was appearing in the password box. I set out to investigate and found that my keyboard setting had been changed from AZERTY to QWERTY.  I do not know how it had happened although I have since discovered that the keyboard type can be toggled by simply pressing Windows + I.  My physical keyboard does not change of course.

     

    Thankfully, the nightmare is over!  Thank you for your interest.
