Reformat Acer with a new hard drive

Hi!

I have replaced my Acer's hard drive some time last year just because. So the new hard drive do not have the factory default setting for the laptop. Now, I would like to reformat and upgrade the OS. But I encounter this problem, I can boot the bootable disk but when the setups pops I cannot click using the mouse therefore I cannot proceed to the installation. I am assuming this has a connection with the new hard drive not having the default system drives? Or not?

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you very much!

that's strange, since the bootable disk normally has some basic drivers to handle touchpad.

have you tried to move selection using Tab key or arrows?

Yes, I did try that. But none seemed to work. I just want to reformat and upgrade OS. What could have been the problem?

the bootable disk is the Acer erecovery media?

can you try to boot to BIOS pressing F2 and check that your keyboard is working moving on BIOS settings?

Can you please post the OS you want to install and the laptop model?
