acer aspire recovery partition

The hard drive recovery partition (D) on my Aspire laptop was evidently erased after a system recovery, can I (1) still make recovery disks and  (2) can I recover that 12.7 gig of space.
It was nice being able to recover using that hard drive partition but I'm a little disappointed the process erased the info (?) on that partition and that looks like it was  a one time operation.

The answers to both 1) and 2) are yes. Just use the Windows process to create recovery disks and once they have been created (don't forget to make the boot disk as well) you can delete the recovery partition and expand C: to take up the additional space.
