VN7 widi problem

I resently bought a VN7-791G-78VM primarily for the WiDi capability, when I first got it the Widi connected to my Microsoft widi adapter just fine (I was really impressed).  The VN7 came only with the 1TB drive so I installed a Toshiba THNSNJ256G8NU SSD drive (same as ACER uses from the factory).  After installing the SSD I re-installed the win 8.1 os and acer apps using the Acer provided recovery thumb drive for my model.  Once it was all back up and running, the widi no longer worked. I checked to insure that all the drivers were up to date, and tried to connect to three different widi adapters, with no success.  When I "add wireless display" and select the device, the GUI says "follow instructions on screen", and the TV says "Connecting you now", then the GUI imediately says "that didn't work, try again". Using a different adapter I got a resulting error of " Times up, your TV stopped waiting".  It seems to time out instantly.  Is it posible that with the i7 cpu and an SSD drive that the computer is too fast and not giving the connection enough time for a hand shake before timing out?

Yes I did, and figured since I had a version higher than whats listed on the website I was good.  On a whim, I down loaded the lesser driver from the website (ver 10.0.0.288) and installed it. Now the Widi works just fine!  Thanks for your help, if nothing else it got me scratching my head a little harder

    Nope, i don't think so.
The timeout is by software, so it will be the same on HDD and SSD.

Are you able to put back the HDD and check if drivers version match that on SSD?

Unfortunately the recovery process wiped the 1 TB drive and made it a data drive.  If that's the case, would it be a wifi card driver issue or the DLL from which the WiDi resides, now that microsoft has removed the actual app from 8.1?

you mentioned that you checked drivers update, did you do it from the Acer support website?
