Screen problems

Hi All

I'm new to the forum but not to Acer.   I have had an Aspire 4738G for some years now which has been excellent - until now!!.

When using the internet I am getting part of the screen blanked out by thick grey or black lines maybe an inch thick.  The lines do not always appear and sometimes dissapear when I scroll.   I have attached an external monitor and they also appear on that so it is not the laptop screen.   So far I havent seen them when running programs eg Microscoft office, only when I am viewing pages on the internet and so far only pages with grapics - not seen the lines when looking at mail etc.

 

Anyone come across this problem before or any ideas

This is an interesting issue. If you are only experiencing these issues when you are using Internet Explorer it sounds like something wrong with Internet Explorer itself. Have you downloaded a different browser, Google Chrome or Firefox for example, and checked to see if the issue persists there as well?

 

If it is just an Internet Explorer problem you can uninstall Internet Explorer to an older version (typically) and reinstall it to the current version to see if that fixes it.
