    Jack,

Was just about to go to bed when I noticed you had replied. Deleted, closed down, restarted, now not showing in Human Interface Devices. It is working though, but strange that it is not listed.

Will keep you posted on what happens tomorrow.

Next day - still not showing in Human Interface Device.

Has been freezing again, then I touched another part trackpad with finger from other hand and pointer moved, but with normal finger it didn't move.

So, there was the strange case of it moving for one finger but not another, and then I tried on the same part of the trackpad. Then licked both fingers, wiped them on my hanky, one finger worked the pad the other didn't. Then neither of them would work it.

It's so irritating, and not exactly accurate when it does work!

Do you recall if the touchpad ever work properly? Meaning, right out of the box before any Windows updates were installed?

Okay, I have been suffering from this and I tried Zip's solution of soldering and that worked for a while but then it came back.

I do believe I now may have solved it.

    Here is what I did:

1 - Download and install Acer Care Center (I did not have it installed).

    http://go.acer.com/download-acer-care-center#_ga=1.171338400.1006505614.1454740202

2 - In the updates there will be one listed about improved touchpad support.

I installed that and my trackpad has been fine ever since.

The strange thing is that the same update is manually available from the Acer support page for this model.  When I applied it that way first nothing changed.  Perhaps Acer Care Center installs it properly?

Either way.  No trackpad freezing since.

    Regards.
