Hello guys, i have been going through lot of issues with this laptop and not getting help from customer service or Service center. It will be a long post, so please bare with me and go through it.

About 6 months ago, i decided to do reset pc as it was very slow, resetting the pc got interuptted and computer shut down and when resarted would not go further than preparing automatic repair and shutdown and sometimes woul flash bluescreen and restart and samething preparing automatic system repair and shut down. Took it to service center, told them that this could be hardware issue, make sure to check everything. They simply installed Windows 8 factory image and gave it back to me. It worked fine, updated it to 8.1 but still had issues with right click on anything and would respond very late. Had few VGA driver crashes too sometimes. Last week decided to do reset pc again with removing all the files. Same thing it crashed and when restarted would show preparing automatic repair and shut down. From another computer i downloaded the Microsoft Windows 8.1 from microsoft media creation tool. Made a bootable pen drive and tried to go to advanced boot menu. It would not go any further than choose boot device and return to preparing automatic repair and same loop of bluescreen and shutdown. Contacted customer service, as this laptop is in warranty, asked for onsite support and tech came with a bootlable USB with image of Windows 8 of Acer and installed it. It works fine though but i do not want any Acer bloats or unnecessary processes from running all the time. I have also double checked to make sure that i have correct Windows 8.1 from Microsoft downloaded. I also took the factory image on USB pen drive after tech left and it is shame that it could only be created on USB pen drive (which could have been used for any other purpose).

I made the pen drive bootable again with Rufus and using the GPT option, tried to install windows deleting all the partitions, worked just fine, went to desktop after setup and installed Windows update restarted and blue screens again, 2 most prominent of those are Driver_Voilations and 2nd boot device not accessible. Restored Windows 8 factory image made earlier. Worked fine, tried to fomat and install microsoft Windows 8.1 downloaded earlier. Done, on desktop, this time disabled Windows update, tried to install Nvidia drivers from Acer support websiite but it asked to install Intel Drivers first, did it, random shutdown after that and same bluescreens. Tried for 3rd time to install Windows 8.1 success, this time did not install drivers or windows updates but only few daily use softwares such as Firefox, antivirus, Adobe reader, Adobe flash player and such and again random shutdown with same bluescreens.

I am out of options now, if i take it to ACer service center they will again install Windows 8 factory image after keeping the laptop for several days and as i insisted that i want Windows 8.1 they said they would do that but that again would be Acer bloats incjected Microsoft Windows and they may even install Windows 8 factory image as before and update it to Windows 8.1 and return it to me. As mentioned before i do not want any Acer injected Microsoft Windows and i should be able to install Microsoft Windows 8.1 downloaded from microsoft without any issues. Help me get this fixed.

Regards.

    digital,

Honestly, it sounds like the hard drive might be bad. You can run disc check tools on it to see if it can repair itself, but it sounds like the hard drive is bad.

You can also run a memory test to make sure it's not having issues wither.

Thanks for responding. I had it checked at service center and spent 5 hours there. It was overheating issues due to dust/dirt in fan and vent. They cleaned it, i reinstalled Windows 8.1 and now i was getting bluescreen 0xc000021a i tried to view it in Bluescreen viewer by Nirsoft and responsible driver it shows is intelppm.sys. I have since, again reinstalled Windows 8.1 and i had the minidump files saved but decided to wipe them with this final reinstall. Any idea if this still seems like a hardware issue or software issue?

    digital,

If you have taken the unit to the service center it should have had the memory and hard drive tested while there. It can't hurt to check them anyway with disc check and mem test, just to make sure.

If you have reinstalled the operating system and you are having problems before doing any updates it sounds like hardware to me.
