Has anybody out there replaced the touchpad on an aspire?  If so, where did you get the new part?

It would helpful if you specifiy the exact model number of your computer and what eaactly happened with the touchpad.

Are you trying to replace the touchpad buttons on the casing or the internal touchpad device?

In February of 2014 I bought a M5 538P 968. In November of 2014, the right click started to stick in the up -unclicked - position. If I pushed hard enough I could force the click but sometimes it would not even connect after the hard push. I should have started a warranty claim then but I kept hoping that things would improve. Instead the machine just got worse. Now not only the right click but the center pad does not have any effect even after a strong push.

A shop near the house said they would "fix"the problem for 100 dollars but the fix would only last a year. They claim that any pad this large is a bad idea. If I can buy the part I will try to fix it myself.
