Hi!

I purchased USB recovery thumb and tried to install the windows 8. But I got this error massage as shown in attached image. And I contacted chat support and still I didn't get good response. After that I foramt/wiped out using acronis true image bootable usb. It took 8 hours long to format /wipe fully hard drive . then i again I tried but I got same error. And also Acer support gave me this link for steps : http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27608/kw/recovery%20using%20USB . After 8 step, i can't see any step what they mentioned in that link. I can see different massage and it says to click ok to continue (Massage : we can change there partion % , 10% to 100% . And there is a check box "without hidden partion"). After I click on ok. Then I show lot of cmd files opening and extracting files itself. It takes while to complete that process. After that I got a massage to remove USB and click ok to continue. Then it is trying to boot itself while loading hard drive. And then pop up acer recvery management window . after i got below massage.

Please help me anybody ?

Thanks. 073n.jpg

    sanjee,

I've made sure the instructions in that article are correct, they are. According to your post you can not get to anything after step 8 (exiting the BIOS and saving changes). When the computer restarts it should try and boot that recovery USB stick first, and get you started on the process itself. You shouldn't be running in to any problems unless you formatted and created any partitions on the drive itself.

The recovery media will create the necessary partitions when it runs, if you create any it will not work properly. Please make sure that the drive is raw with no formatting of any kind.

If it is giving you the option to choose a partition size, choose 100% and do not put a check in the box so that you get a full sized operating system drive and the hidden partition. If you don't want the hidden parttion, you would put a check in that box and that space would go towards the operating system partition.
