I have an Acer aspire 2007. when i turn on I get 'server busy' box and have to wait ages to access

when i turn on, there appears a box saying 'server busy - need to click on 'switch to' in order to activate a programme, as it says another programme is busy.  I have checked with Bt and there is no problem with the broadband connection.  I was told that maybe my wireless adaptor would need to be refreshed.  Help!1

you did not say which operating system you were using, but generally server busy problem indicates too many background programs running usually trying to get internet access, probably before the wifi has connected, programs are probably checking for updates automatically, if your using windows check in the task manager where you can see whats running, not all programs need to run at start up though some install like they need to so in task manager you can check the start up folder to see what starts up when you turn on your computer and you can disable them if you wish to, antivirus software can cause this, make sure it`s up to date, as well all operating system updates are done.
