Acer Aspire m5 481pt: disable power button causes sleep orhibernate.

Hello all,

A super annying feature of my 481pt is that when the power button is pressed, the machine goes to sleep or hibernates. I've never used or wanted to use this feature, but I have accidently hit the power button dozens of times, initiating a time wasting loop. Is there any way to disable this?

Note: I already disabled hibernate and sleep in the power settings. It only sleeps / hibernates (no idea what the difference is) when about to go critical low power.

However, I cant find/ google where/ how to disable the oh-so-easily-pressed power button from initiating time waste mode.

Thanks for any help :-)

    thisisname,

When you click on power options in the control panel you should see some options on the left side of the screen, one which says "Choose what the power buttons do". Click on that and adjust what it says the buttons do, you should have the option to tell it to do nothing when pressed.
