G277HU - why TFT and not LED?

I like this monitor also because of the very narrow frame. However, I wonder why is it TFT, where today almost all new monitors are LED-based? It is stated with a power consumption of 27W which seems o.k. to me, but also it is energy rated as "Class C". That indicates something that is far below leading edge. The price tag is good, but are there anything, for example the screen technology. that speaks against this monitor?

The G277HU is a LED panel utilising TNF technology. The 'LED' refers to the backlight not to the display (this is true for many monitors that state 'LED'). To be pedantic, TNF displays may use TFT technology - but they needn't.
IPS technology is perhaps the better choice but that tends to be more expensive.
