I have a brand new Acer Iconia W5. I bought it because it is the Which Best Buy.

I've just got this item out of its box, connected the tablet and keyboard, also the connection to the mains - *three* things to fit together, and I can't switch on. I suspect the charger is faulty.

There is a socket on the top of the tablet, right hand side, by the on switch (centre side). Is it possible to plug a charger that connects to a car battery in there, then I can use my tablet while I'm away from home (leaving tomorrow) and get the charger replaced under warranty? ( I guess the warrant covers it?

Thank you very much for help and suggestions.

    xanadutheblue,

Yes, the charger should be covered under warranty if you just purchased it. You will need to contact the technical support representatives to get assistance with that.

We have not tested units being charged while using a cars charging capabilities and cannot provide an answer for that question.
