Can someone please help me get my beautiful new Aspire V17 Nitro laptop back into fast working order.  I was playing around with the mouse and wanted to see it better so made it bigger and dark.  did some other fiddling which I can't remember but now the mouse isn't responsive to my touch it lags - the pad is even worse.  Apologises for being a bozo.

    PamL,

To reset your mouse pointer back to the default settings, if needed, you'll need to go to the control panel to do so. Here are the steps to get there:

    Desktop mode

    1. Right click on the start button, left click on Control Panel.
    2. Left click Hardware and Sound.
    3. In Devices and Printers, left click on Mouse.
    4. Left click on the Pointers tab, near the bottom you'll see Use Default, left click on that.

To adjust your touchpad settings, you'll have to be in tile mode, which just means you can click on the Windows start button one time to get there.

    1. On your keyboard, type Settings.
    2. Left click on PC Settings.
    3. Left click on PC and devices.
    4. Left click on Mouse and Touchpad.

I'm going to provide what the unit I was able to get ahold of has for settings:

    Touchpad: On

Enable Swiping in from the left or right edge: On

    Reverse scrolling directions: Off

To help prevent the cursor from accidentally moving while you type, turn off taps or change the delay before taps work: Medium

If you set the unit back to this and it's still having issues, it might be related to a recent Windows update that was performed on your unit. You can perform a system restore and roll your system back to when it worked properly and work forward from there.

Thank you Justin.  I think as well las the windows update I don't think my laptop liked the Office I had installed as it was an old one and I think would have been 32 bit.  I've recently uninstalled that and installed a new one.
