Why is this the Advanced menu locked?

Its a bit like going for a meal and only getting half the menu!. If your looking to buy acer of any kind for ANDROID or VM's don't because the bios for the VT-x Virtualization is locked:

Now for the google word search engine; VT-X / Acer / Bios locked / Android / VBox / VMplayer / virtualbox / P256 / V5 /E5 /HAM

Right, I have a P256 with z5wah bios and the processor comes with VT-X, yet when i try to install HAM (hardware Accelerated Execution Manager) for Android work it says it's not enabled. So like most people i it F2 and go to check, but guess what its not there. . okay i'll update. . still not there after a look around, i pull the bin

its enabled?

    Wibell,

I'd like to look into this for you to see what I can find out, what is the specific model unit you are referring to?

    Wibell,

Thanks. I've looked through the documentation and do not see an Advanced section, can you please post a picture of your BIOS (black out the serial number please) so I can check into this?

As you can see, no options for advanced VT-X which for VM or android work rules out all acers because it is locked.

    Wibell,

Thanks for the update. It looks like the processors that come installed in those systems would support it. Most likely there would have to be a BIOS released for that specific model to unlock it. I'll send a message to research this for you to see if there is anything that can be done for it.

    Wibell,

Look over this article and see if it works, it's an article we created that talks about virtualization.

Without knowing your exact specifications it's hard to just look it up for you, I don't have much visibility on other country SKUs. Smiley Happy
