driver problem

Hello

I'm new to the forum. I live in the UK, and use an Acer Aspire 3200 medium-format desktop, with the O/S upgraded from the original Windows Vista to Windows 8.1, which has been running very well. However I'm presently experiencing a problem, and I hope to find someone on the forum who can help me deal with it.

The problem started about two weeks ago. While trying to view a video clip on Firefox, my browser of choice, I got an error message telling me that Adobe Flash had crashed. This has happened repeatedly since, and none of the fixes described in the Firefox help pages have been effective in dealing with it.

Checking my hardware, I discovered in Devices and Printers that the base unit was shown as having a fault, and on investigation this was described as the coprocessor not having a driver; furthermore, the Troubleshooting procedure could not find a driver to download.

A Google search led me to a site which explained how to use an elevated command prompt to quiz the computer regarding the make and model of the motherboard. Following this procedure produced the information that it is an Acer WMPC 78M, but I cannot find any driver corresponding to this designation listed on the Acer website, and would be very glad if someone could help me track it down, or give me some other suggestion as to how to proceed.

I do of course realise that this missing driver may be a red herring as far as the crashing Flash problem is concerned, but it does seem to me that if there is a coprocessor installed, it really ought to be working!

There is one other thing that might or might not connected with this missing driver. When the computer is booting up, the following message briefly appears on screen:

AMD Data change - Update new data to DMI!

This has been the case ever since I bought the computer, and I must admit that I've previously ignored it since the computer seemed to function perfectly well regardless of the warning. Even so, I'd prefer not to see it there.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can get me any further forward with this.
