Curious about downgrade from 8.1 to 7

New here and thanks in advance for reading.  I have an Aspire E1-510P-2671 and I've been very pleased with it.  I also have a work laptop that I installed Windows 7 and am pondering doing the same for the Aspire.  I understand there can be potential issues with drivers.  Just looking for a little guidance.  My Aspire is for home use and 95% of the time used to peruse the Internet.  I just like 7 much better and it's an Enterprise 7, so bare bones.  I like to install my own Anti-Virus, etc....and not have all of the preinstalled programs I don't need.

Thanks.

First of all, you need to switch from UEFi to legacy mode and disable secure boot, from BIOS.

then try to boot from the windows 7 installation media.

before change any settings on BIOS, i highly suggest to create the windows 8.1 recovery media, before installing win7, so you will be able to revert to default OS if something goes wrong with windows 7.

    from windows 8.1

    press

    windows key logo + s

    type

    acer erecovery

click the icon and follow on screen instructions

    I'm not an Acer employee.

Please be informed that Acer does not recommend altering the factory shipped Operating System.Changing the Operating System may cause driver conflicts. it is preferred that you keep to the original configuration of your system so that all the programs and applications in your computer will recognize all the hardware installed in it.

Also please note that there are no windows 7 driver avaliable at Acer support website.

Before making any changes on your computer you may create a USB recovery media that can be used to restore the windows that is shipped with your computer.

You may also note the device name and manufacturer listed in device manager and check if driver are avaliable at each device manufacturer website for windows 7. For example if audio is Realtek check at Realtek website if drivers are avaliable for windows 7. You may alsu try some windows 7 drivers from some identical model from Acer support website.
