bought my v7 nitro from pc world business 2 weeks last friday and all was fine untill a few days ago when i noticed the audio from the right speaker started to distort and more so with bass audio ... Anyway i took it to kettering pc world yesterday and told them about it and i said i want a replacement and they fobbed me off and said as i bought it from pc world business that i would only be able to talk to them today  , anyway i left the laptop with them yesterday and stressed that the message gets to whoever in the business pc world desk , that i want a replacement under the sale of goods act ... i phoned today the pc world business and spoke to the person who sold it to me and he said it is over 14 days old and i can only have it repared , and i pointed out that on the PC World Business site it states 14 days is for returns and 21 days for faults and refund . this guy Kosher i think his name is then said he hasn't worked there long which really made me nervous. He said i willget back to you ... i had a call from kettering pc world and they said its going to sheffield to be looked at and if no fault then i have to pay of which im confident there is and if there is a fault they will fix it or THEY MAY decide to exchange it and the bloke said it is now out of our hands .... So what happened to the customers rights of a replacemnet ... i feel conned by both parties now and have bought acer products in the past but definately no more when i have my rights taken away and at the end of the day all i want is my laptop

    jellyfiss,

Sorry to hear that you were having issues with your VN7-791G so soon after purchase. I wish there was anything we could do to make the situtation better for you, but Acer doesn't dictate to resellers what their policies are and how they utilize them. Should you need assistance with the warranty please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll see what we can do to help you out with your issue within the parameters of the warranty the unit has.

I spoke to PCWORLD Kettering last thursday 26th february and they told me that they sent it to acer via ups on the 24th february and i have not heard anything since . They still claim i can't have a replacement as it was 2 days over 14 days old and it is only 26 days old now and i have only had 16 days use from is as it has been with pcworld and now acer . It will be 2 weeks since i took it to pcworld this coming sunday , so if i have not got my £900 laptop back by then , i will be definately paying pcworld a visit on sunday and asking questions . I am now in the meantime having to use an acer aspire 5536 which is like a dinosaur compared to my i7 hi spec laptop

    jellyfiss,

If they sent your system off to Acer to get fixed you can contact them directly to get status updates, I wouldn't sit around and wait for someone to contact you in regards to it.
