Help Needed!

I am attempting to install a Crucial MX100 SSD to my laptop. I created a bootable USB drive with Windows 8.1 installed on it. However, when I get to the Windows install screen and am given the choice of where to install Windows, I click on the SSD and am given an error message: "This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOs menu."

Now, the BIOS gives me very few options. I have the boot sequence as the USB bootable drive first, followed by the SSD. I have heard you need to set it to AHCI mode, but I do not see that option. BIOS version 2.07 (Phoenix Technologies) is installed.

Furthermore, the process to get the Windows Installer is incredibly slow. It takes a half hour of watching the teal Windows logo before it launches. And it doesn't get any quicker from there. From what I've heard, it shouldn't take this long.

Any ideas? Anyone have experience with this particular SSD brand?

Thanks!
