A500 will not boot in recovery mode.

I can't get my A500 to boot in recovery mode. I hold down the - volume button, then the power-switch, continue holding the - volume button while the Acer logo comes up, and then it just goes into its normal boot sequence anyway. I've tried more than ten times now, and even if I hold the volume button all the way until it gets to the home screen, I still can't get anything.

    are you sure you are pressing Volume down?

     

    put the A500 in landscape mode, the Volume down is the left side of the volume rocker.

    Also make sure you are still holding both buttons down until the recovery mode text appears. If you release the power too soon it'll act like you describe.
